Lighting Design Tips

Lighting plays an important role during the holidays.  Lights are used to decorate our homes and to set the mood for our holiday gatherings.  Here are five ways to light up your holidays!

Christmas tree lights aren’t just for the Christmas tree!  String lights on your banister, around doorways, and on other real or artificial greenery in your home.

Portable spotlights can be used to draw attention to those special holiday decorations — the handmade wreath hanging above your mantle, the heirloom nativity scene on your buffet, or the Christmas village on your bookshelf.

Table lamps and floor lamps provide flexible lighting during the holidays.  Furniture tends to get shifted around during the holidays.  You can’t move that overhead fixture, but lamps can easily be moved to a temporary location and back again after the holidays.dimmer-dining-room

Dimmers allow you to create the desired atmosphere in any room of your home — subtle lighting for an evening around the fireplace, low light for a romantic dinner.
