JOB TITLE:            Outside Sales Development

DEPARTMENT & LOCATION:        Showroom, Ann Arbor

REPORTS TO:      Showroom Division Manager

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Outside Salesperson is responsible for developing new builder, residential lighting and commercial lighting accounts, in Ann Arbor and surrounding areas. This position requires excellent sales and customer service skills and the ability to effectively open/reestablish customer accounts.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Achieve monthly and yearly sales goals, develop and grow company sales volume
  2. Sell Gross Electric’s services by:
  3. Use HBA resources, Google searches, old customer files and drive around Ann Arbor & surrounding areas to develop sales leads
  4. Establish and develop an excellent relationship with target customers.
  5. Assess customer potential using CRM (Phocas) system.
  6. Work with inside personnel to develop the sales strategy for potential customers.
  7. Understand Gross Electric’s products and service capabilities, by working with salespeople and managers in each sales area. Keep current with industry trends.
  8. Attend outside events and industry meetings.

JOB TITLE: Showroom Sales Consultant

DEPARTMENT & LOCATION: Showroom, Ann Arbor

REPORTS TO: Ann Arbor Showroom Manager

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Showroom Sales Consultant is responsible for selling lighting solutions to retail and light commercial customers, builders, designers, and electrical contractors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Achieve monthly and yearly sales goals and continue to grow sales volume.

Establish, develop & maintain excellent relationships with all existing & prospective customers.

  1. Approach customers quickly & politely. Make them feel welcome and look for customers not being attended to & re-approach after a little time if necessary.
  2. Independently solve problems, seek solutions and learn from previous experiences to find solutions
  3. Maintain customer relationships through consistent communication. Keep them apprised of new products, new services and other interesting/important information to keep them connected with Gross Electric.

Quality of work

  1. Effectively communicate with customers and co-workers through queues, email, phone, voicemail, and thank you cards in a timely matter.
  2. Process orders accurately and efficiently.
  3. Do what is expected on time without having to be reminded.
  4. Maintain superior product knowledge through self-study, online courses and vendor training, keep current with industry trends.
  5. Work respectfully with the team in a positive environment.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to effectively manage customer accounts. Have a positive attitude & demonstrate this in the performance of duties. Contribute to a positive work environment & team spirit.

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Arts in Design and/or Sales preferred

EXPERIENCE:

JOB TITLE:   Warehouse Delivery Drivers

LOCATION:   Ann Arbor, MI and Toledo, OH

BASIC FUNCTION:

Perform any of the basic product delivery functions as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor.  These functions include, but are not limited to: picking, shipping, and delivery.  It is important that all facets of the work functions be performed accurately, safely and in a timely manner.  Included in the daily activities are providing support to the showroom and wholesale operations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform assigned duties accurately.
  2. Follow routes and time schedules.
  3. Keep company vehicle clean and ensure it is well-maintained and ready to drive.
  4. Maintain an open relationship with the Warehouse Supervisor.
  5. Communicate with coworkers at all times to ensure all assignments are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  6. Know and observe all safety rules and regulations.
  7. Learn and use the Eclipse computer system.
  8. Unload goods as per client specifications.
  9. Keep accurate records of deliveries and customer authorizations.
  10. Know and observe company and warehouse policies and procedures.
  11. Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Able to interact with and effectively communicate with customers and employees.
  2. Dependable to work various schedules to accommodate the hours of operation.
  3. Maintain a professional attitude toward customers and company at all times.
  4. Able to operate a computer terminal.
  5. Able to fill orders in the warehouse using various equipment and requiring regular lifting of up to 50 lbs. and heavy lifting as assigned up to 100 lbs.
  6. Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
  7. Valid driver’s license and insurable for driving company vehicles.
  8. Knowledge of driving all company vehicles and able to make deliveries.
  9. Must be 21 years of age or older with a good driving record.
  10. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  11. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
