This sentiment is echoed by designer and lighting specialist at Gross Electric, Samantha Miller, “2016 was a very stressful year for many, so this color is one of hope for a new year.”  She goes on to say, “Greenery is about taking a fresh breath of air to reconnect with what’s real and fresh (and disconnect from technology).”greenery-wall-accessories

There are several ways to bring this refreshing shade into your home.  One of the best ways to incorporate Pantone’s color of the year is through accents.  Kristin Holt, designer and lighting specialist at Gross Electric, suggests, “A new rug and pillows, combined with a few glass or picture decorations, added to your existing color palate can make for a great transformation of your space.”

Both Miller and Holt agree that another great way to update your space with the 2017 Color of the Year is to bring in actual greenery!  Get some new indoor plants, grow a small herb garden, or put together a succulent garden.  Not only will this bring in the Color of the Year, but it will help liven your space!

“Greenery is the perfect color to introduce to your decor in the spring and carry through to fall and even winter with the right complementary colors,” says Keri Sanders, assistant editor at HGTV.com. “Bonus: I imagine it will look phenomenal with the warm metallics, like bronze and copper, that we’re seeing so much of right now.”

While some recent Pantone Colors of the Year have been deeper tones (like Marsala in 2015 and Emerald in 2013 ), which represented richness and luxury, Greenery creates bright energy, which makes us feel happier and healthier.  Couldn’t we all use a little of that for the new year?
