Highest Quality Lighting Products

The Energy Policy Act (EPACT) is a major U.S. Department of Energy campaign designed to conserve our nation’s energy resources. EPACT regulates and mandates minimum efficiency regulations for lamps, ballasts, lighting fixtures, LEDs, transformers, electrical equipment, motors and appliances.

In addition to helping conserve our nation’s energy, EPACT provides accelerated tax deduction incentives, up to $.60 per square foot, for interior energy efficient lighting upgrades.

To help your business comply with EPACT, Gross Electric Energy Services will conduct an energy audit on your office, warehouse, retail space, or manufacturing facility.  Our experts will evaluate your lighting system, and suggest a lighting and electrical package that will reduce your overall lighting costs and significantly decrease your company’s energy consumption.

Make Energy Efficiency a Priority in your Daily Business Operations.  Contact Gross Electric today to schedule your energy audit.

Gross Electric, Inc. becomes a Universal Waste Transporter for Lamp Recycling

Gross Electric has specialized in lighting for the industrial, commercial and retail markets for the past 100 years. As part of their commitment to provide excellent service to their commercial and industrial customers, they are offering lamp (light bulb) recycling through Environmental Recycling located in Bowling Green, Ohio. Gross Electric will provide the proper containers and labels, complete and retain the required paperwork, and pick-up and transport your lamps to Environmental Recycling where they will be properly recycled.

On December 7, 2004, the Ohio EPA adopted a new rule that changed the regulatory designation for hazardous waste lamps (light bulbs). Because most lamps exhibit the characteristic of toxicity for heavy metals, they may be hazardous waste. A waste must be a hazardous waste before it is defined as a universal waste. Under the new Universal Waste rules, lamps remain hazardous waste even when recycled. The term "lamp" applies generically to hazardous waste lamps including the following: incandescent, fluorescent, metal halide, neon, high-intensity discharge, high pressure sodium, and mercury-vapor lamps.

Non-Hazardous Lamps: The Ohio EPA recommends recycling all lamps, even low mercury lamps. While these lamps are not hazardous waste, they still contain low amounts of mercury that could potentially harm the environment.  Contact us today to let us help you protect our environment.
