JOB TITLE: Showroom Sales Consultant

DEPARTMENT & LOCATION: Showroom, Ann Arbor

REPORTS TO: Ann Arbor Showroom Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Showroom Sales Consultant is responsible for selling lighting solutions to retail and light commercial customers, builders, designers, and electrical contractors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Achieve monthly and yearly sales goals and continue to grow sales volume.

Establish, develop & maintain excellent relationships with all existing & prospective customers.

  1. Approach customers quickly & politely. Make them feel welcome and look for customers not being attended to & re-approach after a little time if necessary.
  2. Independently solve problems, seek solutions and learn from previous experiences to find solutions
  3. Maintain customer relationships through consistent communication. Keep them apprised of new products, new services and other interesting/important information to keep them connected with Gross Electric.

Quality of work

  1. Effectively communicate with customers and co-workers through queues, email, phone, voicemail, and thank you cards in a timely matter.
  2. Process orders accurately and efficiently.
  3. Do what is expected on time without having to be reminded.
  4. Maintain superior product knowledge through self-study, online courses and vendor training, keep current with industry trends.
  5. Work respectfully with the team in a positive environment.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to effectively manage customer accounts. Have a positive attitude & demonstrate this in the performance of duties. Contribute to a positive work environment & team spirit.

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Arts in Design and/or Sales preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  1. Experience in the lighting business preferred
  2. Sales experience… demonstrated ability to open and close sales
  3. Relationship building… Ability to build effective relationships based on trust, respect and collaboration with all levels and functions of an organization
  4. Has a proven track record of making customer satisfaction a priority
  5. Learning agility… Ability and willingness to learn from experience, and then apply that learning to perform successfully under new situations
  6. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  7. Knowledge of computer software and applications

JOB TITLE:   Marketing Manager

REPORTS TO:   President

JOB SUMMARY:

Create and implement strategic marketing plans to drive qualified traffic to our Lighting Showrooms, Supply Divisions, and Safety Store. Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from concept to execution. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Manage creative development and production of all forms of retail and wholesale marketing and advertising, including print, radio, television, digital and social media, videos, and direct mail.

Understand and recommend media usage, planning, and buying for effective marketing for target demographics and geographical areas.

Write and coordinate content for all corporate public relations materials, including brochures, articles, news releases, blogs, and e-communications.

Establish and maintain relationships with media partners, marketing agencies, graphic designers, printers, and promotional product vendors.

Maintain marketing and advertising information on company website, including photos in the online gallery.

Define and execute company’s social media strategy.

Plan and manage customer promotions and events.

Manage co-op programs and corporate sponsorships with lighting & electrical supply vendors.

Develop and implement annual marketing plan and budget to best allocate marketing funds and achieve desired results.

Coordinate corporate donations to and involvement with local non-profit agencies.

Procure promotional items for sales, promotions, and events.

Create and monitor programs to increase sales. Measure and report performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight, and assess against goals.

Maintain customer contact lists for promotions, events, and marketing pieces, including direct mail and e-communications.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or other related field

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of three years of marketing and project management experience

Intimate understanding of traditional and emerging marketing channels

Ability to think creatively and innovatively

Budget-management proficiency

Ability to build effective relationships based on trust, respect, and collaboration with all levels and functions of the organization

Proven experience in identifying target audiences and creatively devising and leading cross-channel marketing campaigns that engage, educate, and motivate

Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges

Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and social media

Ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, and meet competing deadlines

Strong writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Must be able to work independently and in a group environment

Working knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and Google AdWords campaigns
